You can make a better breakfast than this...

Monday, September 24, 2007
I?m not sure what all the hype is about with this place. We were visiting for a few days and thought we?d try Sears on a Tuesday morning after we read all the fantastic reviews online. The wait was about 15 mins, which wasn?t a big deal. The restaurant itself is cute, historic. However, the waitress was far from friendly. The pancakes were just that, pancakes, not sure why they are ?world famous?? and my omelet was nothing special. The hash browns were a joke; they didn?t even taste or look like fresh potatoes, more like the frozen bagged kind you can pick up at the grocery store. The toast was rubbery and cold, so cold that the butter wasn?t even melted, and other elements of our breakfast were cold as well. We didn?t even bother saying anything because it was obvious they wanted us out of there as fast as possible, we had the check on our table about 5 seconds after she set down our food and were never asked how everything tasted. Definitely not a place you?ll feel welcome? and I?ve had a better breakfast at home. Pros: downtown Cons: food and service
