I have been to Pasta? on Castro street two or three times and have not been pleased. The wait staff was about average, and we were seated in a timely fashion. Yet I have consistently not enjoyed the food. I had a salmon pasta in cream sauce which I should have taken back, they did not separate the dark meat from the salmon before putting it in the sauce, so the whole dish had a very unpleasant ""old fish"" smell and taste. Before that, I had the gnocchi with creamy truffle sauce. The fontina cheese was too heavy for the supposed truffle flavor which was decidedly absent.\r
They have huge portions, if you care to finish them, but I would call this a below average cliche Italian restaurant. Not for the culinarily inclined. Definitely not for Italians, it would only disappoint. The price is too high for the quality of the food.
