Rude, Nasty, Money Grubbing Thieves run the worst bike shop in LA 3/4/2007

It was time to tune up the old mountain bike and get a little service. I've been dozen of bike shops back home in Texas and usually had a good experience. Well, that was about to change. The Trek had some dings and the gears were freezing up, so a tune up was in order. I found a bike shop only a couple of blocks from the new place and decided to give it a chance. When I got there, it was cramped and dirty, but that's fine. The guy behind the counter on the other hand was extremely rude. He'd be one doing the repairs. I was told two weeks. Seemed a little long, but I gave over the bike. After two weeks, it still wasn't ready. Finally by week 3, I was told to pick up the bike. When I asked what took so long, I was told "You bothered me and I stopped working on it because I can." The price was double was the quoted repair was. (Was told 20, price came to 42 dollars). I went for a ride later that day to find a cheap chain on the bike that broke the second I put weight on it. Plus, I found 4 teeth broke off the chain drive. When I went back to complain, I was told that the work was excellent and to stop "being a p*ssy". Plus, those parts were so good and he was so good that he recharged me for all the labor and parts. Now totaling over 120 dollars!!!!! When I complained, he said he would just keep the bike and threated to call the police. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!! I have no idea how the stay in buisness with treating their customers this way. This shop is welcome to contact me at any time. So don't post some label saying you tried to get ahold of me, because I'm ready for you to say "sorry" Pros: Close to home Cons: Poor Quality Work, Rude Staff, Massive Overcharging, Horrible Customer Service more
