The food at this ""mom and pop' neighborhood joint -- really a stand with a walk-up window and outdoor picnic tables -- is okay but the service can be so rude that I suggest you go up the street instead to Rudy's which is great/better BBQ and all the classic sides as well as breakfast tacos in the morning. And the service there is always flawless. The last time I went to Smokey J's and was treated rudely, I pointed it out to the guy serving me at the walk -up window and he said he didn't care! When I then said I would not return, he said, ""Well, that's your choice."" I asked whether he cared about losing a loyal customer and he said ""Not really .""
Pros: Okay food but not the best
Cons: VERY rude service
