Dirty and stinky cars 2/23/2007

Worst car fleet ever....after waiting about 30 minutes, they gave me a high-mileage car with every seat and all of the floor covered in disgusting stains. They offered to switch out the car anytme, that is, once they had a car available. That morning, I called three locations near downtown, none had ANY cars to rent. Later that afternoon, I called back to the E Burnside location, they had a car I could take. I went back and they switched out into a SUV -- what I thought to be a good deal, as they didn't raise the price, but, it was too good to be true. It smelled like they had dumped a bottle of perfume into the heat vents to cover a horrid throw-up smell. I called the agency and requested to be switched into yet another car. This time, specifying a recently detailed, clean, and good smelling car. Went to pick it up. I handed the keys to the employees and sat down to wait for the third rental of the week. Within 5 minutes, they were pawning the throw-up smelling SUV off on another customer. I reiterated the problem with the smell to an employee, recommending that they don't turn it over to the next customer -- they dismissed my comment. So, I took off in the third car of the week. It didn't smell, but certainly hadn't been detailed, and had stains all over the seats, crumbs in the seat seams, and dust covering the dash, along with 31,000+ miles. How a car company can feel okay with renting cars in such poor condition, is beyond my comprehension. I will never rent from Enterprise again. Cons: dirty, high mileage, smelly cars more
