What We Expected -- Not Great

We visited the 13 Coins, Downtown, on 11-15-07. We had read a number of the reviews, so we were not surprised at anything. We arrived for an early dinner (4 PM), and as we expected, the hostess tried to seat us at the counter. Noting that the place was virtually empty, we asked for a booth and were seated at the only one without a window and with such a dark lighting that it took us nearly 5 minutes for our eyes to adjust enough to see our menus (yeah, exaggerating just a bit). We ordered couple of pasta dishes, both of which lacked much quality for the price -- thin sauce, bit overcooked, too salty. Also, my coffee was lukewarm, which I really hate. Wait staff was adequately attentive. It is classy looking place, for a diner, but with the price, I would not recommend the restaurant except for one visit ... just to verify what others say.

Cons: Somewhat flip attitude, parking, the PRICE
