I received a flyer advertising a ""non-macho, queer-friendly"" Brazilian JuJitsu/Mixed Martial Arts experience at Valencia Street Muscle. I had never even known there was a gym there, but I decided to go check it out. I went to watch a class and meet the instructor - Sergio, and he was very friendly (easy on the eyes too) and supportive. I have always enjoyed watching the Ultimate Fighting events and wanted to learn self-defense and I even tried a couple of the local JuJitsu academies. I found them to be way too macho and homophobic so I stopped going. That's definitely not the case at Valencia Muscle...and the gym has everything I need to get a great workout so I going to cancel my membership at Gold's. \r
Pros: Brazilian JuJitsu!
