Big mistake. A simple request, which was on the menu was met with staff attitude, hostility, and a bland tasting smoothie without the strawberries. Do yourself a culinary and experiential favor and head over to the Downbeat Cafe at 1202 N Alvarado. They don't have smoothies, but the rest of the menu is worth the forfeiture of a blended fruit drink\r

Expect the Downbeat to have better music, better service, better food, better atmosphere including more pleasant and stimulating artwork, and last but not least better coffee.
