Was once a very good school, now it's about average 1/4/2007

This school has been in the area since 1992. The training area is carpeted, which is ok except that it holds germs, sweat and dirt. The training is consistent and pretty good. The instruction would be better if more drills were used to develop sparring & breaking skills instead of just simply sparring during class and just breaking at testing. Many students practice on they own to improve in these areas. The head instructor's strength is with teaching patterns/forms. He enjoys kicking drills which would be excellent if the students kicked into targets to develop accurancy, timing and power. Spending so much time kicking in the air is a recipe for injury ... which many of his older students have. 99% of the activities are in-school training and testing. Rarely do student attend seminars, tournaments or demos. Nor do experts from other schools come to this school. These are large shortcomings because the students never see how they compare to others, see new ideas, different thoughts or skill levels. Still, it would be worth trying the school out for 3 months, just make sure you have other activities to supplement the training. Pros: Parking, Master Instructor, Consistency Cons: Lack of Equipment, Lacks variety, non-certified instructors, evening only hours more
