what i miss the most about gainesville, except the football ;)

las margaritas is definitely my favorite restaurant in gainesville, and perhaps my favorite place of all time to eat. the food is excellent, the prices incredibly low, the service prompt and friendly, and the food excellent! oh, did i mention how great the food is? the menu is extensive and caters to both the carnivore and the vegetarian alike. the maragaritas and sangria are fantastic. i still crave the warm chips and homemade salsa served at every visit and my stomach is growling at the memory of the melt in your mouth enchiladas that made las maragaritas the first place i wanted to go when eating out. i now live in philadelphia and i am surrounded by amazing cuisine, but i have yet to find the cheap, flavorful, comforting mexican food that las margaritas served up on every visit. make sure you save up for dessert (and ask for two spoons) because the fried ice cream is to die for!
Pros: great food (though not 'upscale'), cheap, great service
Cons: can get crowded on weekends
