Best Italian I've ever had!
Friday, January 12, 2007
I am usually not a huge fan of going out to eat Italian and find a lot of it kind of boring. I never order a tomato sauce dish out (even lasagna). It's usually something simple I could make at home. However, this experience was not like that. This was the best Italian food I've ever had. I would say it even rivals some of the best French food I've ever had (my favorite cuisine).
I had the Wild Boar Tenderloin with Gorgonzola, and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life!
The service was great and we appreciated all the little touches, including the wine steward. Plenty of staff.
The only down sides would be that the bar is SO small. It was just a bit cramped overall, and there is no waiting area, (which is not good when it's as cold as it has been) but we appreciate that they get in as many people as they comfortably can in such a small space. Might I recommend expanding?
The decor seemed like a cross between "old school steakhouse" (think dark wood) and modern (stainless steel). I think they could have gone with a "warmer", more European/Tuscan look and had a better ambiance for the cuisine.
But, we will definitely go back often and rave about this place to all our friends!
Pros: Food!!! Prices were reasonable; service was great.
Cons: Limited wines (Italian & Domestic only), COLD (temperature in there)
