Lovely evening

We did not have a reservation on Labor Day weekend, and just walked in at 6:45. The place was empty, and the front desk couldn't have been nicer. They were very friendly and accommodating, seated us right away, welcoming us. The food is the star here. Not huge portions, but certainly enough. We started w/ tuna in a cracker crust, frisee salad w/ peaches, fried wasabi and goat cheese, also a delicious heirloom tomato salad w/ mozzarella. All excellent. Our entrees, fried rabbit and the simple halibut were also excellent. Each bite a surprise of flavors. Service was very nice. The place filled up after 8pm w/ mostly tourists, it seemed. The decor is very sleek, chic modern and minimalist, though extremely comfortable leather seats. We bumped into friends who wanted to sit with us at our table and just have 1 drink, however, the hostess informed us that it was not aesthetically proper for the restaurant, so would we mind moving to the bar area. She was quite nice about it, but that was my only complaint, the place was not warm, a bit stuffy & tight. There was ample room for them to join us, but they didn't look right crowding our table, though I do understand. The bar is a big bore, so don't bother hanging out there, go only for dinner, it is worth it. Neat location right on the busy Westside Hwy w/ great views. Great place for a date! Food is worth it alone.
Pros: Excellent food
Cons: a bit stuffy and cold in feeling
