Exellent, down to earth service

Thursday, September 07, 2006
My wife took me to Perry St. yesterday to celebrate my b'day and to say that I had a good time is an understatement. We were seated promptly by the hostes, who greeted us with the best smile I have seen in a long time; the cocktails were very good, not too sweet, not too strong. I had the Ginger Margarita and it was excellent. I had the house made mozzarella chese with hairloom tomatoes as an appetizer and it was delicious; I proceeded with the halibut for entree; it was soft and came with a citrus-like sauce which gave it a kick unlike many halibuts I've had before. The service was super attentive, not rushed and very casual at the same time; it was delivered as if it was second nature for them. In all, this is an excellent place for a date, a small group or a couple who just want some quality time in one of the less pretentious places south of 14th street. Pros: Unpretentious place, all about the food, supreme service! Cons: Your meal, after all, has to end at some point!
