My favorite French restaurant in SF.

Tuesday, August 01, 2006
I adore Fringale. Everyone of my friends that I introduce to Fringale adores it too. My favorite dishes are the Black Angus rib eye steak with wine butter and the duck leg confit. Make sure you save room for dessert (which is why I'm not familiar with the appetizers). I highly recommend the gateau basque and the hazelnut/almond mousse cake. I've heard, however, that their fish dishes aren't nearly as tasty as their meat and fowl dishes. Their prices are extremely reasonable considering the quality of the food. My only possible complaint is that the crowd tends to be more "mature" and not very hip. But hey, I go to restaurants to eat good food. . .not meet new people. Pros: absolutely delicious! well priced Cons: older crowd
