This is without a doubt the best Mexican food in the City of Houston. During my 28 years in the city, I experienced many Mexican restaurants. There is not a single one that compares to the quality of the food prepared at this small, family owned neighborhood establishment. It's true, you don't miss what you've got til it's gone. I no longer reside in the Houston area and suffer from sub-par mexican food in Florida. The only certainty is that upon every trip to Houston, a visit to El Gallo is at the top of the itinerary. If you have not been to El Gallo, you must give it a try. You'll find yourself at your new favorite mexican restaurant. 5 STARS
