Very Disappointed

I have been a loyal customer of Zuni cafe for over 11 years even though I never thought the food was exceptional, I liked the atmosphere.
I went there a few weeks ago to celebrate an award with a group of friends. I ordered a bottle of Rose Champagne at the bar and clearly pointed to my selection on the menu which was $55.00. There was a lot of excitement with people arriving when the bottle was served. We then were seated at a table and over the course of dinner, ordered a total of 5 bottles. When the bill came, they had served me a $100 bottle of Rose instead of the $55 bottle I had ordered. The bar tab should have been around $275, but it was $500.
I had graciously called the next day explaining the bar staff error in detail to the manager. I was very surprised when he told me I would only be credited $50.00. He said mistakes happen. I pointed out it was their mistake and they were sticking me with the bill which seemed grossly unfair and perhaps illegal.
Being a business owner myself and accustomed to often unreasonable demands--even when I haven't made an error--I try to be generous in how I handle the problem. However, if I did make a mistake, I am always fully accountable. I was shocked that a restaurant of Zuni's caliber did not rise to the occasion. I (and my close friends and family) will never return and I hope by writing this critique that I discourage at least one person from dining at this establishment.
Pros: Great hostess
Cons: Too few bathrooms
