I moved to California from NYC about 7 years ago and I know it's a cliche but it has been really hard to find good bagels and good pizza out here. Who knew that great za was waiting for me in Pleasanton, CA? New York Pizza is a great hybrid of Ray's Pizza (or Famous Ray's or Ray's Original Famous, etc.) in that they give you a gargantuan slice (they cut each slice in two because they're so big) and a California nuevo pizza in that they use really fresh ingredients. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Bring the kids and they can play the old Ms. Pac Man machine.
