I took my cat to another vet on Yale street for weight loss and hair loss. They gave her a cortisone shot. The next day I noticed my cat couldn't walk, eat or breath correctly. I took her back in and they said she had diabetes and I could inject her twice a day or put her down. I took her Dr. Cooper and she said diabetes is the least of our worries. My cat had lost half of her body weight, had an upper respiratory infection, and was severly dehydrated. She believes the high glucose reading was due to the cortisone shot. We are getting stable and then we will determine if diabetes is something to worry to about. But had I given her insulin injections, I could have killed her.
