There are so many great places to eat in Chicago-- THIS is not one of them!

Monday, October 09, 2006
It is lovely inside. And it ends there. The menu is impossible to read (and I am in my early 40's, not a Senior Citizen and I am saying that!) and the food is impossible to understand. The chef seems to go out of his way to put unusual food groupings and wine pairings together, but has made no effort to make it eatable. The menu was very game-heavy. I really had to work at finding something I would want to try. The chef would make no substitutions. Three of the four of us got the striped bass-- none of us liked it . The other person had halibut and disliked it. None of us would return. Very, very small portions and very high prices. The best thing about this place is the art on the walls-- that is worth coming in for a glass of wine and viewing, actually. Pros: Art on the walls, the plates on the tables, the wine. Cons: Food is awful and expensive.
