A destination restaurant it is not, but for a local neighborhood sushi joint, its terrific. I recommend sitting at the bar, unless youre a teriyaki/tempura kind of person, then do us all a favor and get a table. Tomo Sushi. Emphasis on sushi.
My favorite treat is to watch Jun (the chef) prepare a whole fish and gives us the very first servings off it. You want fresh fish? It doesnt get any better than that. Also great to watch is when he makes specialty house sauces from fresh ingredients.
Hamachi, Hirami, Maguro, Sake, Unagi, all are wonderful. The Japango Roll is spectacular and one of my favorites; they use rice paper instead of seaweed and fill it with scallop, salmon, avocado, mango and crab dressing. The result is a fresh, clean, crisp satisfying roll.
For the local neighborhood its a great place to meet, eat, and socialize
Pros: Local
Cons: Crowded bar, on weekends
