Over-Hyped and Over-Priced...but Definitely Over

Back in 2003 when the Top 100 was compiled Im sure this place was a colossus, but it is nothing more than a shadow of its former self. Obviously, something recently happened to this much hyped, towering pillar of San Franciscos Italian cuisine. Did it change hands? Did the Chef and wine Sommelier leave town? Whatever happened happened and the problems run deep. Unfortunately, the food was almost as bad as the wine. Boring and uneventful. The wait, however, was worse. 1 hour and 20 minutes passed between the starter and the main course before the Entree hit the table. The staff were inattentive and ignored polite nods for service. Seriously, if youre thinking of eating here, do yourself a favor and get a cheap Chinese takeaway instead - you'll wish you had.
