Allina Clinic of Northfield, MN by Sara R. at InsiderPages

My family has been going to Northfield's Allina Clinic for about 10 years. For the most part, I've had good experiences, although there are one or two doctors that I warn friends away from. On the other hand, my kids see a great general practitioner, Dr. Baumgartner - she takes a lot of time with them and they like her a lot. My husband also goes to Allina for his annual physicals (he sees Dr. Reitz, who is also good). Drs. Runzheimer and Labinski are also good choices.
My main problem with this Allina clinic is their problem with keeping specialists on staff. They replaced two excellent OB/GYNs with at least one that I didn't like (like many other Northfield women, I switched clinics to follow the doctor I'd had for years) and another one I didn't ever meet. Now all the OB/GYNs are gone, replaced by a general practitioner who specializes in women's health. I'm sorry, that is not the same thing. I have a complicated reproductive history and a family history of ovarian cancer. Women need to have OB/GYNs available to them. This Allina has also had trouble retaining doctors in other specialties, including pediatrics.
Allina is a fine clinic to go to for basic healtch care, but for complicated problems requiring specialists, I'd look elsewhere.
PROS: some good doctors
CONS: some doctors not so good, management makes bad decisions
