Affordable, accommodating, but long commute to Seattle proper 5/26/2005

Homestead Village has been a very enjoyable place to stay while seeking permanent housing in the Seattle area. The room is small but includes a kitchenette with a full fridge, 2-burner stove, sinke, microwave, cabinet space, and an island that we use for desk space but could double as a kitchen table. Get a unit in the back if you can, the greenery is nice and it blocks out the sound of the highway. Staff has been very accommodating and met all of our needs, including extending our stay & giving us maps and directions. Quiet place even though the parking lot is full. The only rub here is that we didn't realize how far from Seattle proper it is (and what crazy intense traffic you must negotiate to get to Seattle). I'm unable to commute by bus or train if I get a job downtown or the university unless the job starts after 9am. Buses and trains are twice-daily one-directional commuter busses. But for the money, the distance is well worth it. Most affordable, clean extended stay s more
