What Happened to the Customer is ALWAYS Right? 5/10/2005

I went with a group of friends for a party there the other night. We called ahead, made reservations, and explained our needs. We were told we had to spend a minimum of $350.00 and would be billed an automatic 18% gratuity. Though told that everything would be taken care of as requested, none of our requests were met. The most disappointing part of the whole evening was the way the manager/owner responded to our complaints. She was very rude to us and offered us no compensation for the horrible service, not even removing the automatic gratuity. She then left and her other partners went to my friends yelling at them profanely to leave because we were supposedly just trying to get a free meal (something that was never even asked for).
