I love Michaels Arts and Crafts, Me as a Painter I buy all my canvas, brushes, paints here, I dont recommend the other big chain stores as they are really expensive, As far as Painter supplies Michaels has a good supply of colors and Paints at some of the most reasonable prices I have seen around, If you are a casual hobbyist and are looking for stuff for models, or putting together your own work of Art Michaels has alot of the odd nick-nacks that you wont find anywhwere else. Recomend these guys fer sure.
