What a Let Down...

Monday, August 16, 2004
Don't believe the hype! The Met is an average restaurant at best! Here are my reasons why: 1) Before having a chance to finish our salads, here came our steaks. No chance to ponder the wine list before eating our steak, or to even finish our salads. Poor form. 2) My peppercorn NY strip was the chewiest/grisliest piece of meat I have ever had at a steakhouse. Huge disappointment. They did promptly bring out a filet instead that was fine, but shouldn't the "best steakhouse" in Seattle get it right the first time? 3) The wine list was great, but their $40-50 bottles were no more than $13 bottles at the grocery store. I will never go back to the Met, I suggest not wasting your time in the first place. For $200 dollars, you could have a much better meal and service at many of Seattle's other restaurants.
