Obviously it depends on what you are looking for but Rouge (on a Saturday night at least) is not the place to go unless you are looking for a sweaty, crowded area with mediocre overpriced drinks, and a youthful bridge and tunnel crowd. I paid a cover of $15 and consider it money thrown down the drain. It requires serious effort to buy a drink at the overcrowded bar which charges more than your standard SF prices and to top it all off you end up with mediocre watered down drinks. I had just come from the Clift Hotel which may be difficult to get into and even more expensive but at least the money spent there is well worth it for the beautiful people and ambience.
