Boren location going downhill since sale

The following is an email I sent to 13 Coins following a disappointing visit. To date, I have received no response, to me that just reinforces their declining service. This is an update to an earlier review I posted in 2003, CS retained the old date. My latest visit was 2007.

I've visited 13 Coins many times and always enjoyed it but last night had my first bad experience. My wife and I arrived about 10:30 PM on 12/16. 25 minute wait in the restaurant so we opted to eat in the lounge. Our drink orders (iced tea) were taken promptly but then everything slowed down. When our food orders were eventually taken (10 minutes or so) I asked if the Italian sausage fritatta included hash browns, our server (think his name was Joshua) said he wasn't sure but he'd get me a side of them. I ordered it with mild sausage. My wife ordered Asian chicken salad minus chicken (she's vegetarian). We were never offered your famous antipasto dish or bread. It would have come in handy as our wait for our food was long, at about the 30 minute mark our server apologized. I asked for bread to tide us over, at that point he brought the antipasto and lots of bread. When the food arrived soon after, I found the frittata was made with spicy sausage, and lacked the spinach and zucchini the menu claimed it included. The side of hash browns was small, not the 13 Coins size I expected. The frittata was disappointing, overcooked and sorely needing the veggies. No point sending it back after it took that long to arrive. Server did offer to bring us free dessert. It was late enough so we said no. When I saw the check and found the small side of hash browns were $6.95 I asked if he could remove those from the bill in lieu of the dessert and he promptly did so.
I understand the restaurants recently changed hands. Pity if this new, lower level of service is a symptom of that and not an aberration.
Pros: 24 Hour service, variety
Cons: Price, slow service, errors
