The Coop 5/3/2003

Cooper stadium is not named for the famous Cooper Brothers who were a 1930's major league battery, but for an erstwhile Franklin County[Columbus] Commissioner! The park and the AAA International League franchise is owned by Franklin County, George Steinbrenner & Co.[Yankees] supply the players. The park was last renovated in 1970's and shows it. Parking and access is adequate. The food is execrable, pack a lunch! The field is fine, brand of baseball is excellent[Jeter, Soriano, Hernandez, etc.] played here. The PA system and scoreboard is bush league. Go to a game in the afternoon if you can and skip all pregame non-happenings. Pros: AAA Baseball, accessible, plenty of box seats Cons: Operation bush leagu, park needs update, Steinbrenner more
