The idea of horseback riding in Central Park seemed great! The first dissapointment was calling the Claremont Academy: the lady was very unfriendly, immediately put me on hold and when she got back it sounded like she tried to dicourage me from taking classes.
Almost every time I go there and wait at the desk to be helped the staff is just chatting and not noticing me.
Since a class is only half an hour and costs $50 I'd like to get most of it, however it's impossible because every single time they send my horse down 5-8min late and by the time I fix it's girth and stirrups I'm left with 20min to ride.
The place is totally filthy and dilapidated. There are holes in the ceiling and water sometimes leaks through them. The only reason I go there is because I like riding and my instructor is nice.
Pros: nice instructor, close to Central Park
Cons: staff at the desk, facility is run-down, high fees
