Fells point is by far one of the best, off-the-beaten path places in Baltimore. Great bars and restaurants, lots of charm and character, and spectacular people everywhere. Take a water taxi or harbor shuttle from Harborplace and walk around, listen to some music, drink great beer. It's just a great neighborhood.
