LAX is just fine. Sure, it's a great place to catch a plane to just about anywhere, but that's about it. Dining is below par and the shops can be great or uninsipiring, depending on which terminal you end up in. Waiting areas are dull and bathrooms are definitely not on the clean side. NOTE: If you're flying in from out of the country, make sure you realize how long it takes to clear customs. And yes, be honest on your customs form -- they do search luggage quite frequently.
