Top of the list SF restaurant

The food, service, and ambiance of the Tadich Grill make it a "must visit" eatery in San Francisco. While there is nothing gourmet here in terms of preparation or presentation, the food is excellent in terms of quality and quantity. My picks:
The Shrimp Louie Salad
Filet Mignon
All of their seafood offerings
A bit pricey, but the quality of the food and the atmosphere more than justify the cost of a meal. And you can get a great meal for diner prices if you stick to the specials or their lighter offerings.
Update December, 2006: I just have to update my review after seeing all the negative remarks here. I have been going to the Grill for over 30 years and never had a bad or even less than pleasant experience, so I had to check it out just to make sure. I can report that these reviewers either have the Grill mixed up with another restaurant or this is their first time in a restaurant. The service is great, as it has been for 30 years. Like any establishment, every dish is not 'perfect' every night, but even their 'off' dishes are better than what passes for gourmet dining in most eateries in the City. Don't be mislead, the Tadich Grill is a great place for adults and kids looking for simple yet delicious food. If you want tiny portions of inedible food for exorbitant prices, then you ARE in the wrong place!
Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Open-style bar is fun
Cons: Crowded lunch/dinner
