The Jerusalem Cafe is about more than food; it's an experience. Don't get me wrong; the food is fantastic. Their chicken shawarma is some of the best I've ever had. But the wait staff is quirky, and they're likely to tell you what you might like to eat--even if they've never met you before. My first time there, I asked if there were apartments available nearby because I wanted to live downtown. They explained where all the nearby apartments were, then called their friends to find someone who was renting. Before I left, they had arranged an apartment viewing for me. Amazing!! A truly great neighborhood restaurant, in the classic sense, with amazing Middle Eastern food at a great price. It's everything I need.
