Knott's Berry Farm truly has something for everyone in your family.
Camp Snoopy for the little ones with rides specially made for those 7 and under and plenty of Peanuts character to see.
For the thrill seekers try Ghost Rider, Silver Bullet and a classic Montesumas Revenge. The rides are not as thrilling as those in Magic Mountain, but definately a little better than the baby rides at Disneyland.
For those who do not like rides, there is plenty to see in Ghost Town. Candle Makers, and old cemetary and plenty of shops.
The price is an average value but call them ahead of time and ask them what promotions they are running. Usually you can buy tickets at Ralph's Grocery Store and save a bundle.

The food at Goofy's kitchen is not what you would expect at a regular buffet. You get a great selection of "REAL" dishes. Omelets made to order, quiches, roast beef, ham etc.. the pastries are to die for. For the little ones there are mickey shaped EVERYTHING and the best Peanut Butter and Jelly Pizza.
Character will come out throughout your meal for picture opportunities and autograph requests. The characters like to take their time at your table and will really work to make your child's experience a good one.

I have been blessed with a wonderful doctor. Dr. Peter Kim of Family Care Centers in Costa Mesa is our family doctor. He is young for a doctor, and his messy long hair will make you look twice, but his care is truly top notch and that of a very experienced doctor.
Doctor Kim treats our whole family. There has never been a time when we come in to his office and feel like we forgot to mention something, or that we felt he was in a rush. Dr. Kim walks in to your room and grabs a chair, he sits, he really listens.
Our kids love him too, he is excellent with them and always explains all that he is doing step by step so they will not get scared.

Not sure how long of a review I can write, but Slater Montessori Academy is the most wonderful school around. Being a family where both parents have to work is hard, but knowing the kinds of care my daughter is given at this school, really makes it a lot easier.
Ms. Yvonne the director here is truly an angel. She knows everyone of her students by name and can easily tell you something unique about each one. She spends endless hours working at the school coming up with new and exciting activities for the kids to enjoy.
One week while learning about Dinosaurs, she brought in a company that allowed the kids to actually dig for fossils. When learning about the seasons, tons of snow where delivered to the playground so the kids could experience snow and snow fights. Cinco de Mayo brings a Mariachi, Fire Safety week brings a fire truck to ride the kids around. Fourth of July, a family picnic with watermelon spitting contests... the list goes on and one.
They truly make learning fun at this school. The teachers are so tender and sweet, it is like leaving your child with another "mom".
If you are looking for quality care. This is the place to bring your little one.

The pizzas are to die for.
Haus of Pizza has daily specials that give you pasta, soup or salad and bread for under 7 dollars. They have great selection of wines and beer.
The best item though has to be their Antipasto salad. Don't visit this place without giving this great salad a try. You will be glad you did.

A Wagon Wheel tasty? Here they are. French's Bakery on the corner fo Baker and Fairview in Costa Mesa, has the best wagon wheels ever!!
A wagon wheel is a round shaped cream cheese pastry. Wagon Wheels are the size of you average medium pizza and come with a variety of fruits. You pick. Most fruits are preserves, but if you come in early you might be lucky and get yourself a FRESH STRAWBERRY WAGON WHEEL. The taste is SINFUL!! There are sooooo many strawberries you end up eating them with a fork after your pastry is done.
From time to time I visit French's in the evening and I have been lucky enough to hit them on a buy one get one free sale. They are never sure when they will offer this deal, it depends on the day's sales, but if you are lucky enough to walk in during this offer, grab a couple for your co workers, it will surely be a hit.

If you have the time and you are looking for a cheap hair cut or hair coloring this is the place for you.
Paul Mitchell The School is located in Costa Mesa corner or Baker and Harbor. It is a school for hair stylists and make up artists.
The students here are the coolest!! They look a little intimidating at first. There are a lot of punk rockers and goth kids at the school, but they are great at what they do. There are two phases to the school. Phase 1 offers you the cheapest price at only $10 a hair cut and $20 for color or highlghts. The students in Phase 1 are beginners and tend to take a little longer than usual. Don't be scared though, a teacher is always over looking any cut or color to make sure it is done right.
Phase 2 is about $5.00 more but these kids are ready to go out into the hair stylinh business, most only have a couple hundred hours to put in and they will graduate. They really know what they are doing by the time they hit phase 2 and it is deffinately faster service.
If you are looking for a great place for a cool up do, something different, these kids love to CREATE new styles so give them a shot.
They use nothing but Paul Mitchell products so you know you are getting the best.
This is truly a great

If you are obsessed with shoes as I am. Footsies is the place for you. My closest Footsies is here in Costa Mesa but I believe they have a location in Huntington Beach as well.
Every shoe in the place is 3 pairs for $25.00. Their selection rocks. Now at 3 pairs for $25.00 you are not getting name brand shoes but they are cool knock offs.
They have every style, every color you can think of. They even carry some boots.
Check this place out the next time you need the great mood that buying 6 pairs of shoes can put you in.

If you like greek food, a good place to eat in Costa Mesa is Daphne's Greek Cafe. Daphne's is a chain and I know there are many locations in Orange County. My compliments have to go out to the Costa Mesa Restaurant on Harbor.
My co worker and I love to have lunch here. You walk in and the lines are long sometimes, but it goes by fast. Once you order you get your drink and sit at a table. They have plenty of outdoor tables too if you like to tan and eat :o). The food is brought out to you like a full service restaurant. There are no waiters but the staff is so attentive and came out twice to make sure we did not need anything.
The Restaurant is clean and the price for their lunch specials is a good value.
If you are in a rush. Go to their website and order your food on line. You not only get a free drink if you order on line. But your order will be ready when you get there.

My son Michael is a Huge New York Yankees Fan. On July 24, 2005, the Yankees were visiting and playing our Anaheim Angels. I paid waaaay too much for tickets on Ebay but this game was worth every penny. I called the Stadium the day before the game to inquire about the possibility of my son getting up close to the players before the game (our seats were nosebleeds). The operator was the nicest lady I have had the pleasure to speak with. She not only told me what to do, but also told me about the run the bases event at Sunday games.
We arrived at the game 2 hours early trying to get autographs, we were on the Yankees side and no matter how much we and every other fan begged., the players would not even turn to look at us. Ushers let us get soooo close to the field and we got a few pictures. They really are nice (ushers), if you are nice and they know that is not your area but you want to grab a quick pic they let you.
The best part of the day came at the end of the game. Angels are loosing, it is the bottom of the 8th inning so we decide to start heading down. We went to the area right behind the Angels dug out and asked the usher if it would be possible to take a close picture of Derek Jeter at the plate. The usher looked and decided since most people had already left, he let us sit in the front row behind the Angels dug out. I was 5 ft away from Vladimir Guerrero and yelled out his name, he turned around, said hi, smiled and made fun of my son's Yankee Jersey, it was cool to joke with him (in), I asked him for a ball and Vladimir got down from the fence he was standing on and was lost under the dugout for a few minutes, at that point game ended and thought he was gone. We started to walk away and then we heard a "Hey" it was Vladimir, he was standing there waiting for us to come back for our ball. He could have left at game end but didn't.
My son threw him a Sharpie and he signed it and so did a few of the other players. My son still loves the Yankees as a team but we all agree that the Angels love their Fans.
Thanks guys :o)
