Brewbakers in Huntington Beach is a unique experience for anyone who loves beer.
Make an appointment to brew a batch of beer and share with your friends a home made beer.
When you come in your are given a menu that lets you choose the type of beer you like. Form dark or lights they have recipes for all kinds of berr.
once you choose what you want to make you get to gather your ingredients and start cooking. You leave your mix there to ferment.
You are given a day to come back and bottle your batch. You can bring your own labels or they will help you create them if you want.
We recycle our bottles. We save them and wash them and boil them after we drink the beer and bring back with us everytime it is time to boil.
While here, try some of the house beers and fresh baked breads.
This makes a great fathers day gift.

El Mariachi is a restaurant and features a full bar. While dining there is a live Mariachi show. The Mariachi here is top notch and plays the most wonderful music.
If you are celebrating a birthday let them know. They will come by and serenade your table.
The food is good and reasonably priced. A little more than most restaurants but the music is free. The Mariachi takes turn with a band that most people get up and dance to. Nortenas, Salsa, Cumbia??
If you do not like loud music don't come here. If you love a good mariachi and a good margarita... see you there

Remember the good ol days? Parents packed us in a car, bought us some snacks and we headed to the drive in? You could sit in the back of a truck or on top of the hood and enjoy a movie outdoors and affordable too?
Well Van Buren Drive-In lets us relive those days. Kids 11 and under are free. Everyone else is only $5.00. You get 2 movies for $5!! And you can bring your own popcorn and drinks. As a matter of fact I suggest it. The snack bars are tiny and the lines are very very long.

They recently put in spa chairs for a more relaxed pedicure. The cost is only $12 so definitely worth every penny.
They have a lot of manicurists so usually you can come in without an appointment and still get in. Give them a call, my favorite is Christine but everyone is really nice.

Scooters Jungle is a Huge Indoor Warehouse looking building from the outside. Indoors there are inflatable bouncers and slides for your kids to run around in. The place is filled with inflatables and toys, air hockey, foosball tables, balls etc..
Once kids check in they are guided to free play for a designated amount of time. Afterward you are led into the party room for pizza, drinks and opening of presents.
The Birthday Child really is treated special on their birthday, They sit in a King/Queen chair with a crown and open presents.
This is a great way to party, show up, have fun, leave the mess and go home.

Change some money for nickels and you are bound to have a blast. There are classic games and the newest games too. Dance Revolution games of every type are very popular and the good thing is they take nickels. The most expensive game takes 5 nickels. Typical arcades will charge 5 quarters for games. They also have ticket games where you earn tickets towards prizes at the end. I have to admit the prices are kind of cheesy but they are fun games to play.
If you do not want to play there is a tiny waiting area that you sit in, read the paper or a good book and let the kids go crazy :o)

What you get is your own private Gondola, a picnic basket with grapes, wine , cheeses and crackers. You get your own personal boat "driver". He takes you for a one hour cruise of the quiet, Newport back bay. You sit in the back with a blanket provided and enjoy the ride and the Italian music the driver plays.
This is a very romantic thing to do for a loved one. The owner told my husband and I that this is a very popular place for proposals, so if you are thinking of popping the question, give Newport Gondola a try. The owners are very nice, friendly people who will gladly give you pointer on where to eat close by.

Late at night the place is full of people having a great time. The atmosphere here is so cool, tables are set really close to each other so you can easily talk to people and meet new friends.
They have a great selection of sakis cold or hot. Great Sushi and a variety of appetizers.
Our family has our usuals we order, Crispy Rice Soup with shrimp, wontons and Veggies, California Roll, Spicey Tuna Roll, Crispy Chow Mein and Kung Pao Chicken. Add a pitcher of beer and some sodas and you are all set.
The staff is super friendly. The waiter all tend to all tables so you always have someone to take care of you.

For around $2.00 you can buy a container with live worms and a pair of tweesers. You will be able to feed them to the fish and turtles. It is cool to watch the fish jump out of the water to get your worm. Be careful you can get wet!
There is every type of snake you can think of. From small one kept in tanks at the counter or HUGE ones that are bigger than most cars!!
If you need a unique birthday party idea. They offer inexpensive party packages, complete with a show that will teach you about the reptiles and they will bring many out for you to touch. They have private party rooms. Bring your food and cake and have a blast!

The tables are clean and reasonably priced. They charge by the hour not per game.
The bartender is cool and always has a cool suggestion on what to eat.
I have to be honest, the food is not all that great, don't come here expecting a great pasta or a steak. Order yourself somethign fried (not the calimari), and you will be cool.
The atmosphere is nice, people there are friendly.
