Sometimes when we buy fast food Chinese, we end up picking our food out from trays that have been sitting there for who knows how long. You never get a fresh tasting dish.
China Gourmet In Costa Mesa has the answer. You walk in, place your order, and they will cook the food to order. Try their Chow Mein it is the best. The portions are HUGE and the price is no more than the fast food Chinese that cannot beat the taste of this place.
We have fun watching the cooks cook our meal and always are pleased with the taste.

The Ha Ha Cafe is a small comedy club in North Hollywood. Unless you are looking for it, I would doubt you would find it. It is really small. Call ahead and let them know you are planning on coming, most of the time they will send you free passes.
The comedians here are usually amateurs but really really funny. They get a little racy but if you can handle it this is the place for you.
They do serve apetizers and the drinks are good.

Balboa fun zone gives you that old fashion boardwalk feel. Here you can rent a pedal boat, ride a ferris wheel, eat cotton candy and an ice cream cone all in one day.
There is a small arcade and a few rides that would most likely please 3-11 year olds. There are several snack bars and pizza places. They rent bikes here, pedal boats even full size pontoon boats.
If you want take the Ferry to Balboa island with your bikes and ride around, you might catch a glimpse of a sea lion or two they like to hand out here

On Mondays they offer live Mariachi band who alternates with a live salsa orchestra.
The drinks are reasonable the music is awesome. Come in on Mondays and give your singing a chance. They have a singing contest that pays 100 dollars to the winner :o)

If you are a girl in Orange County, you can walk into almost any shopping center, and find a fashion store, where we can find the latest styles, at super cheap prices. Sure the quality is not name brand stuff, but it is cheap and we can buy dresses for under 30 dollars. Men have never been this lucky, If they want the latest styles, they have to walk into a pricey department store and buy name brand, unless they want to look outdated.
Man 2 Man is the answer. They offer all the latest styles in Men's clothes from cool jeans to fitted shirts etc... the prices here are a quarter of what you would pay in the department store. If you want to keep up with the latest styles but not break the bank, Man 2 Man is a good option. Keep in mind the quality of clothes is not going to be the same as the 150 dollar DKNY shirt you can buy, but it looks great and costs only 25.

If you want real mexican street tacos Taqueria de Anda is the best place to get them. Taqueria de Anda is in Fullerton and some imitators have sprung out throughout LA and OC. Don't be fooled the Origional is here in Fullerton. This place has been open at least 25 years and has recently moved next door to make room for growing clientele.
Taqueria de Anda is open 24 hours and has a drive thru window for even more convenience.
If spicy is not your thing ask for you salsa on the side, it is the real stuff!!

It is still amazing to me how many great undiscovered treasures LA holds. Last week, we discovered EL CID. I received an email from a ticket broker I use, and they were featuring El Cid as one of the favorites. Seemed interesting enough and with nothing to do on a Thursday night we gave it a shot.
The neighborhood was gross, Sunset and Rampart. The outside of the restaurant at first glance, had us thinking we had made a terrible choice. As we walked down about 30 stairs, we were pleasantly surprised. The piano player on the patio, the cool dressed people, the free happy hour buffet with veggie skewers and wonderful salads... definitely did not expect all this. Once inside even happier. The tables are lit by candles, the decor very cool.
Usually we expect average food when going to see a show, but here we were so surprised. The food was the highlight of the night. I had the Filet Mignon with Chimichuri sauce. The mashed potatoes and fresh peas were out of this world. My husband had the Paella which was to die for. Try the calamari and do not leave without trying there house specialty... the Sangria.
I was a little disappointed in the show. The Flamenco dancers were average. I personally did not like the show but enjoyed the music and the food enough to want to come again. Next time we will try on a Wednesday night for Belly dancers.

Remember Manny, Moe and Jack from the Pep Boys? Well the real live version of these characters own this shop. Moe and Jack. Jack is the one in the glasses.
I love bringing our cars here for service. They understand how busy we all are nowadays and provide a service I do not see very often. I can call Jack any time, tell them what I need done on my car and he sends a driver to my work to pick up my car. While I am working my car is getting an oil change, a tune up... whatever the case may be. By the time I am off, Jack has sent the driver back with my car. It is a great service that no one else I know of provides. The prices are reasonable, and Jack will never try and sell you something you do not need.

Used car dealers get a bad rap. They are often seen as someone trying to cheat you out of a lot of money for a lemon.
This is not the case at Toyota of Huntington Beach. I purchased a great used vehicle from them this year. My car is awesome and is backed by the same warranty that any brand new Toyota bought at this lot.
The salesman who helped me treated me with respect and understood what I needed and what I could afford. He helped me find the best loan to make sure I could have the car I wanted.
I did not feel pressured or confused.
I truly recommend this for you next purchase

If you like Water Parks, Wild Rivers is a great option without the huge crowds.
The ticket prices are moderate but you can get a killer deal on a season pass. Wednesdays they have car load day and after 4pm you can get a car load in for like 45 dollars or something.
The rides are okay. Some are kind of old now and they need to get some new ones soon, but the lines are reasonable.
The water is cleaner than some of the other parks we have been to. They have a cool Kid program that you can get for free. You get a bracelet for yourself and each of your kids, If you want to let your kids leave alone you can always find them by walking up to one of the KID ZONE machines. Scan your bracelet in and it will find everyone in your party for you. Since the waters are not deep it gives you some peace of mind being able to always find them.
