I've been to Arrowhead Pond for various events...but my best experience has been to see a Mighty Duck hockey game. The atmosphere is always exciting, although it does get really, really loud in the place.
There seems to be a lot of adequate parking for the facility, but of course, it is always a ridiculous price.
They do have a lot of concerts in the building, so it is the Orange County equivalent to the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It definitely has a newer look to it, and seems to be very well maintained and landscaped.
If you don't want the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles to check out your indoor events and concerts, check them out in the OC at Arrowhead Pond.

This place is huge! A lot of college football games are played here...it's adjacent to USC. A few years ago I was able to check out USC play Notre Dame at the Coliseum. It packs in a lot of people, even though it seems a bit run down. The parking is abysmal...we had to park five blocks away in a structure and then walk to the complex. It's also pretty dirty from what I saw, but that could have also been from all the littering of crazy college football fans. Nonetheless, it serves it's purpose, and if you're into the game, it doesn't really matter how old and run down the stadium looks. A great atmosphere if you are going to a big football game.

I've been to Staples Center a few times for various events. It's a great structure with adequate parking within the building. The main negative thing is the area...it's downtown Los Angeles so there are a lot of scary people out and about at night after games. Also traffic is a nightmare...I was at the E3 Conference a few months ago and it took me thirty minutes to drive three blocks after the conference. So that is definitely a hassle.
Other than that it's a great place to check out the Lakers or any of the live events they have there constantly. Odds are you'll have to visit there if you want to see the big concerts in the Southern California area.

From the outside, this place looked really run down to me, so I always avoided going there. One of my friend's recommended it so I decided to check it out, and it's definitely decent. Their fries are really good, as well as the burgers. They had a lot of different options as far as food goes, and a pretty big area to eat if you are planning to dine in.
It's located just a few blocks from Old Towne Orange, so it's a nice place to eat if you're in that particular area. I wouldn't say go out of your way to check out the place, however. There are plenty of other burger joints in the area that are better than this place, but who knows, you might like it a lot more than I did.

This place is off the beaten path a bit next to the train station in Orange. It's a little hard to find, but it's a great little restaurant. The train runs right next to the place, so it can be a little loud at times, but that just adds to the ambience of the setting.
The food is good, especially the steak. The few times I have been it hasn't been too busy, so that is always a welcome change of pace from some of the other sit down restaurants out there.
Definitely check it out if you are in the area of Old Towne Orange...it has some great food and good ambience.

Dairy Treet is a nice, convenient ice cream parlor right next Chapman University. I'm very familiar with it because I used to stop by every once and awhile when I was walking back from school. The few staff members are friendly, and the food there is very tasty. They have a few other options besides dessert, but I haven't had much other than the ice cream. On a hot summer day, the Dairy Treet is a nice welcome place with some good ice cream. You might miss it because it is so small...there's definitely no inside area to eat and enjoy. It's a place to get food on the go, and serves it's purpose well. It's definitely decent.

I definitely have to give this place high marks...not just because the food is good, but they have had extremely quick service the few times we have visited. The first trip we made to Carmine's was on a very busy Saturday night; the place was packed. We debated waiting or just going somewhere quick, but we decided to stick it out. Suprisingly we were seated in 5 minutes and then placed our order not long after that. It couldn't have been more than ten minutes before we got our food. That impressed me seeing as it is a sit down restaurant that was very busy. The food was really good too...I can't recommmend this place more.

This place wasn't my first choice of video store to rent from, but they definitely have a fantastic selection of VHS. There were a couple of harder to find titles that I was looking for to watch that I asked them about...apparently they have a back room filled with VHS that they don't even have the boxes for in the front of the store. Sure enough, they had each and every one of the titles I was looking for. Their DVD selection isn't the best, but if you are looking for DVDs, you're probably going to Blockbuster or Hollywood Video anyways. It's at a great location, but parking can sometimes be a little hard to find. Definitely check it out if you still watch VHS...and make sure to ask them about a title if you don't see the box for it at first.

This place is great. I've only been here a few times because I didn't live in the area for very long, but it was a nice hidden gem of a video store. They have some great import DVDs that you can't find at Blockbuster, as well as a fantastic selection of harder to find videos and DVDs. They specialize in cult movies and imports, so if you can't find it at Blockbuster, more than likely you can find it here. There selection isn't the biggest, but they just don't carry a lot of the average rated movies that hardly anyone is interested in. I can't recommend this place anymore...definitely check it out if you are in the South Pasadena area.

If you live in Southern California, you have two choices for baseball...the Angels and the Dodgers. My preference is the Angels...mainly because they play teams that I grew up like the Yankees and White Sox. Parking and food is always expensive, but you can't go to any ballpark and expect to get deals on those two things. The stadium is really nice, and the location can't be beat. Beer is pretty expensive too, so it's highly advised to bring your own flask with your favorite beverage. The team was pretty abysmal up until a few years ago, but now everybody has jumped on the bandwagon so it's harder to find an empty seat. If you're here on vacation, it's definitely worth the trip to check out a game while you're in town for Disneyland. Recommended.
