The Hollywood Bowl is one of the best places in Los Angeles to listen to live music. Where else can you bring a bottle of wine and picnic meal, sit under the stars and listen to world class music. Concerts range from classical (Hollywood Bowl Orchestra) to jazz to rock. Give yourself plenty of time as parking is often off site and requires a bit of a hike. Get on their mailing list so that you have first dibs on good seats.

These aren't the blockbusters but the highly acclaimed. Because they have multiple theatres you will always find something interesting to choose from. Come early if the film is popular as this is a popular theater and sometimes sell out.

This is by far one of the best stationery stores in LA. Not only do they have a great selection of stationery and invitations in stock but they can order a huge variety of special order items. They offer printing services which include handwritten (calligraphy) invites. It doesn't matter how obscure your event they will have an invitation that is appropriate. Turnaround on printed items is reasonable.

This is a neighborhood favorite in Santa Monica. Located on trendy Montana Avenue you'll know you've found the right place when you see a crowd of people spilling out onto the sidewalk. Tables are crowded close together but the food more than makes up for it. They offer a wide range of pastas and homemade gnocchi. Staff is friendly and prices are very reasonable (especially considering the location).
