I've been back to DC a couple of times lately and they are getting better. Service has improved and the bar has developed nicely. Beers on tap are still meager, but overall DC's has risen to the level of "worth it". DC's now gets 4 stars but that is only a Sammamish 4 stars and not really comparable to a Seattle 4 star restaurant.

I don't think I would have a lot of dinners here, but FPH does breakfast well. It tends to get crowed on the weekends but they have a fairly large capacity and line moves quickly.

In my frantic attempt to clean up my mess of a house before guest arrived for Christmas eve dinner, I managed wreck my already aching back. I had never gone to a chiropractor before and I was a little leery of the idea. Meeting Dr. Lincoln quickly dispelled my fears. He was friendly and professional, and worked hard to understand my issues. After my first adjustment my back already feels much better and I have high hopes for his future assistance.

The big menu and friendly staff keep me coming back here for lunch a couple times a month. The food is good (but not great) and the price are a little high (for cafe food) but overall it's nice place to sit, drink your coffe, read the paper and have have some lunch.

And while the chili is great, the character of the place makes it worth a visit all by itself. You really get a feel for old ballard eating at Mike's. The bombed out look of the neighborhood and the espn classic bowling playing on the TV make you feel a little like you are in the 50's without all the stupid 1950s kitsch. So take a ride out to Mike's for lunch, it's worth the drive.

I have had Well Fargo checking account for nearly ten years now. I would gladly change banks if not for the many automated withdraws scheduled on this account. Several times now Well Fargo has put me through a financial hell I would wish on my worst enemy.
The first time I was making a down payment on my house and had sold stock in order to be able to finance this. I deposited the very large check at my Well Fargo and expected the normal 1 week for the check to clear so I could in turn meet my closing 2 weeks later. About a week later I received a letter from Wells Fargo saying that my check had been marked as potential fraud and it would be another 2 weeks before the money was released. Panicked at the idea of not being able to make my house closing I called the bank to find out was going on. Apparently, because I had never deposited a check of this size before, they were going to hold the money for 2 weeks AFTER the check had already cleared.
While I was able beg the seller to delay close by another week, this very nearly cost me the home I so badly wanted. The Wells employees I talked to were the most callous corporate stooges I have ever had to deal with.
I could go on with more stories of how Well has abused me over the years but it just makes me mad.
As for a day to day Bank, Wells is OK, but if you ever need them to handle anything out of the ordinary for you, they'll just let you down.

While not much to look at from the street, the peoples pub has a great bar in the back with many excellent beers on tap. Sevice is very frendly, but a little understaffed sometimes. The food is great, offering many tradional german dishes as well as a couple of not so tradional ones. My favorite after a night of beer drinking, the deep fried pickles. Yes, deep fried pickels. If you've never had a beer and fried pickle, your not really living.

Porta has some great lunch food. It is one of the few places I really look forward to going at lunch. The service is always very friendly and its normally no problem to get a table. Unfortunately they are moving locations soon so I will have to stuff myself with lamb sandwiches while I can.
