overall i think the bridal/wedding industry is crazy. i shopped for a wedding dress at bridal dreams after seeing them a fews years before i got engaged, i just remembered where they were located, close to tuesday morning and the AMC theatre on hulen. i found a few nice modern looking dresses like i wanted, i will say they did have some older styles with sleeves and things, which some brides may prefer. they carry special occasions dresses, bridal party attire, and you can rent tuxes from a catalog there. one thing that bothered me was i asked what a particular dress was made of, one i really liked and was interested in buying, and i was told that it was made of silk taffeta. a quick flip of the tag inside as soon as the shop keeper walked away revealed that the dress was 100% polyester. nwo i dont much care what its made out of being as i wil only wear it once, but i dont appreciate being lied to. im not much of a fabric expert either, but i do know, silk comes from worms and is more expensive, and polyester does not and is cheaper. hmmm... as i started to leave i was handed a brochure and told that there was a sale of a certain percentage off if i bought my dress before the end of the month. no mention of this BEFORE i started to leave.. just a couple reasons why the entire industry sucks... when else would you think $800 is a reasonable price for an outfit you will wear ONCE!?

i found the victory arts center online and was so thrilled to see the pics. its right by my college, coudl hold both my reception and ceremony for my wedding, and when i went to visit it was just perfect. i had wanted an older building that was special, and it was! i was very excited. it was also the very first place i lookeda t when planning my wedding, and i was sure it was the one. i was able to look around without anyone bothering me or having to make an appt. it is an apt building too, so it was open during the day, and i assume night too. so i find the managing office to get pricing info, etc. the person in the office was a sub because the manager was on vacation. no problem, but she didnt have any info on renting the ballroom. i was dissapointed, but it was ok, i just emailed the manager again, telling her i had visited and was sure i wanted to book. then several days later i got an email from the manager, having returned from her vacation. she said that they were no longer taking reservations because the managers of the building were doing some restructuring and had put reservations on hold. i tried back about 4 times over the next few weeks and months, still the same answer with NO extra information. no time line, no guesses, couldnt even tell me if they would ever be booking ever again, so i gave up. rented another place...but i thought the whole thing was weird because when i had been in the ballroom there were actually a few things left over from the night before's party. and when i went again that weekend with my fiance, same thing, so i know there were still events going on. of course, maybe they had been booked in advance. i also noticed in the restrooms, there were soem building materials around and some work wasnt finished. my mother thought perhaps they had run out of funds to pay for the work so it had been halted, it jsut seemed fishy. so be warned, they are in a weird situation.... good luck if you try to book there.

well im sorry to hear that other person had a bad experience. any place in dfw around lunch can be busy. the reason places wont seat until your party is there is because they cant waste table space...
well im sorry to hear that other person had a bad experience. any place in dfw around lunch can be busy. the reason places wont seat until your party is there is because they cant waste table space if youre just sitting around. i would be ticked if i walked into a place to get lunch, and most of us dont have more than an hour, and saw ppl sitting around at half full tables waiting on people to arrive. this place is an old fast food joint and there are not many tables! even pei wei does that. if you cant get all your lunch buddies there at once, go for dinner because its great. they dont waste your time- they are fast to get your food out at both dinner and lunch, so be courteous and dont waste thier time and space. every time ive ever been there the owner has been there too, a nice older guy. he greets you with free tamales and chips and bean soup. more if hes never seen you, because he knows his regulars. the prices are cheap, the food is excellent, and the service has always been great for me. ive never had to wait long for anything including to sit down. ask the owner about the tornado, he has a cool story about how it jumped over his building and went across the street.

i love beading and i love this bead store. they have a great selection and they offer classes for all kinds of beaders. they have useful tools, books, and good bargains. the regular priced stuff is a bit pricey, but no more than if you were ordering from a catalog. plus thier beads are great quality. go check them out if your into beading or are interesting in starting.

this bakery is one of my all time favorites. my mom bought her wedding cake here and it was wonderful. we have also gotten many birthday cakes here in the past and cookies and other goodies that were out on display. they are very helpful if youre not quite sure what youre looking for. my favorite is thier strawberry cake with cream cheese icing. mmm to die for!

this store really needs to bump it up. i went once, and i dont even want to try going again. usually i will give stores at least two chances, but not this one. i dont even see potential. there was nothing i was even remotely interested in. it all looked way to worn and way to old and crappy to even be given away. if my stuff looked like that i think i would pay someone to take it away. i know the proceeds benefit something good, but honestly, if you have no way to get decent things to resell, maybe you shouldnt open a resale shop.

for such a large store i was a little dissapointed in what the actually had. i went in as they were trying to close so i admit i need to try again. i like to give stores second chances and i havent had time to try this one again yet. they didnt seem to have much furniture though, it seemed like it was mostly clothing.

i have loved coming here since i was a little kid. the park is awesome, such a neat thing to see real tracks right in the ground. there is a place where you can get in the water when its warm too....

fossil rim is a great palce to see all kinds of animals right from your car. they have endangered species as well as more common animals, but this isnt your regular zoo. you drive through the entire park and can feed most animals while youre at it. there is a half way point at the top of the hill where you can have lunch and shop at the gift shop and take a nature hike and all sorts of activities. kids LOVE this place and adults will enjoy it too. great place. cheap for the amount of entertainment and education you get.
