This is a very good doctor's office, tucked away behind the Carle Place railroad station. The nurses are all kind, there is often little waiting, and the doctors are knowledgable. I have seen Dr. Faustino, who is very good. He is concerned, thorough and detailed - all the things you want in a doctor.

Let's face it - it seems like there is a long wait at nearly every doctor's office these days. Dr. Essman is no exception. There is a long wait here, maybe even longer than average. But he is a great doctor, a skilled professional who keeps up with his field and knows what he is doing, and has a calm demeanor.

Their billing department needs to be more careful - they did make a mistake on my bill and although they quickly corrected it, they would not have done so on their own - so watch your bills carefully if you go here.

This is one of those dollar stores that is just LOADED with stuff.
Some of it's great, and you'll find some great bargains here for a buck.
But some of it is not so good - especially the items that seem too good to be true. Anything that is even vaguely mechanical or has any kind of complex operation is to be avoided - honestly.
But if you stick with the basic household items, then you'll do just fine here. Just don't expect too much - it's only a dollar!

I have used Paramount for 15 years for everything from minors things - like oil changes - to major repairs. I have never been disappointed. The mechanics are great, they always find what's wrong and deal with it properly, and the price is always right.
Paramount handles regular mechanical work and also auto body repairs.

But this place does have the "standard" antiques - old chairs, houshold items, toys, and so on.
Plan to spend at least an hour here, and be sure to peek around every corner - they tend to keep items grouped together, but there are lots of hidden treasures, some of them in seemingly random places.

This is the best place to stay in Rhinebeck - and the best thing about it, you have a choice of different accomodations.
They have rooms in the original historic Beekman Arms - it is very hard to get a room here, but the building just breathes history. They also have a small motel like building, and a large bed and breakfast home.
All of these accomodations are superb - but they all sell out quickly, so book early, especially during leaf-peeping season.

In addition to making their own fine selection of Hudson Valley wines, Rivendell tries to stock wines for sale from every region of New York, including little out of the way wineries that may be too far off the beaten path for a casual visit.
Leave room in your trunk - it's hard not to leave here without a case or two of mixed wines, even if you're just a casual drinker.

If you're heading up to New Paltz for hiking or rock climbing, you've probably packed most of what you need. But it's still worthwhile to stop by here - not only for those things you may have forgotten, but the browse the store and chat with the staff.
Most of the people who work here are also hikers and climbers, and are happy to share tips and info with you. And you may end up hiking of climbing in a spot you hadn't considered.

And one of the great pleasures of buying your music here is talking to Jack - he is passionate about the music, and he can also turn you on to some music that maybe you never would have heard of.
Being a college town, he also has the eclectic college alt mix, as well as some of the folks from years ago who influenced those sounds.
