Niche movie theaters that stock a full bar have begun to appear in a few west coast cities, and I don't know why they haven't swept the nation. Big Picture delivers classic films in a small cozy theater that features its own bar. They'll even deliver drinks at your point of choice during the movie.
Apparently they began hosting corporate events, but they clearly have hit the mark with the combination of films you love and drinks you love.

Turtle Club is a new addition to the Punta Gorda downtown, although the restaurant follows the hugely succesful Turtle Club in Naples. I believe that Turtle Clube is also distinguished as the only restaurant in Punta Gorda that uses Opentable. We ate there on New Year's Eve and had a very enjoyable meal. The interior was very comfortable, the food was very good (we tried several different seafood dishes) and the service was good, not great. Definitely worth a visit!

The bar definitely has a bit of a laid-back vacation feel to it, although it can get fairly loud at times. They have very good bar food, particularly the fried gator appetizer.

Kashmir has good Indian food, but not terribly authentic. It is frequently hyped as the best Indian restaurant in Boston. Their take on Indian is very rich - lots of heavy cream and ghee (clarified butter).
The interior is really charming, and the location is ideal (smack in the middle of Newbury street). The service is very good, but the prices are on the expensive side for dishes that definitely don't live up to their billing as the "best" Indian in Boston.

Toyoda makes very few pretensions - it simply delivers incredibly good sushi. Well worth the trip to lake city. A small restaurant tucked into Lake City, this is not the type of place you would typically seek out.
Fresh, tasty sushi is the primary / only reason (do you really need another?) to come here - the decor is unspectacular and the service was mildly attentive at best. Their miso soup wasn't the best I've had, but their tempura ice cream is incredible. The sushi though, was incredible.

We visited Market Street Gril in Ballard on Saturday evening and were treated to a very good meal. The restaurant sort of looks like a Wrap place from the outside, and inside the decor is also a bit unusual and didn't all seem to fit together - a huge street map on one wall, a diner-style neon clock on another, and more traditional paintings on a third wall. This interesting, but slightly out of place decor did a good job of describing much of the experience.
They were out of the first wine we ordered. And the second. On her third trip, the waitress suggested a wine that she knew they had, but as also notably more expensive then the first two we attempted to order.
We had the braised short ribs and calamari appetizers. The short ribs were excellent - so tender that the meat just fell off the bone. However the calamari underwhelmed us - it was a bit heavy and somewhat soggy. The salsa-verde, cilantro soy vinagrette didn't compliment the calimari nearly as well as I had hoped it would.
Our group sampled several entrees, the rib-eye, the sea scallops and the lamb sausage. The scallops were undoubtedly the standout dish, featuring delicately shaved truffles scattered along the dish (although the plentiful daikon sprouts just got in the way of the rest of the dish). The scallops are reason enough to go to the Market Street Grill. The rib-eye was good, but not exceptional, and the same could be said about the lamb sausage.
We had a great lemon bread pudding and a so-so chocolate torte. The bread pudding was very good, although the berry sauce at the bottom seemed a bit unusual.
Definitely worth a visit, even if you have nothing more than the short ribs and scallops.

I don't know much about Ballard, but I've now been there a few times in the recent past. I had lunch at Hi-life late last week, and was really impressed with the space and the atmosphere.
I expect that Hi-life is a great place to go for brunch, or for a beer at the end of the day. Their lunch was good, but not a particular stand-out. I had the Kefta Marrakesh, a dish that supposedly contained spiced beef patties along with a honey-yogurt sauce. The patties were underspiced and barely distinguishable from burgers, but the sauce was quite tasty.
Halfway through our lunch, we heard a loud thumping on the high ceiling overhead. As it turns out, the Hi-Life sits underneath a martial arts studio. Kind of cool, but also kind of annoying to hear thumping while you eat. I'll probably try to go back for dinner & drinks at some point, but it isn't at the top of my list for lunch.
