3 floors of antique goodies with signs posted everywhere encouraging you to haggle. LOVE IT. The owner, Matt, is stellar guy as well. We have been all over the city looking for a sideboard to carve sinks into- Greenwood, Western Ave, etc. and oila- within minutes we had several to choose from...and when we did, Matt brought the price down $175 off the tag. I recommend this awesome store to anyone remodeling, looking for a little accent piece or just wanting to see what's out there in antique land.

Ever since it opened, Delfina has not faltered. Owners Annie and Craig (the head chef) have managed to keep this place feeling like a neighborhood joint despite its national fame. The menu always has a few favorites, Niman Ranch flatiron steak with french fries, roasted beet and goat cheese salad and for 5 years they have kept their classic spaghetti with plum tomatoes/garlic and hot pepper flakes (for a mere $7) on the menu! Don't miss dessert- panna cotta or the bittersweet chocolate cake with creme anglaise- to die for. Make a reservation- this spot is popular!

This place has good coffee and rolls and teas. So many places do. But they also have a commitment to their community- they support the Real Change vendors who sell their papers in front of the shop and they recently stepped up to sponsor the first annual Real Change breakfast in November. Stop by and grab a cup of joe and compliment them on their tangible commitment to the community around them!

This is one the best kept secrets in Seattle. The Big Picture, in the basement of El Gaucho, shows great films in an intimate setting with a bar attached. Yep- you can have your pint of Mac&Jacks while enjoying the flick. Originally, the space was set up for corporate events but they have been showing movies for a long time now and the beginning of the week always has great bargains- 2 for 1, 1/2 price, etc. What other movie theater delivers your popcorn to your seat and allows you sip a brewskie (legally) while entranced in a fine film?

Couldnt' agree more with Brian's review. What a bummer of a movie experience. After 2 bad in theater experiences and plenty of parking, waiting in line nightmares at the Metro we ban it. Those movies are inevitably showing somewhere else or are better seen on video in the luxury of your home.

I've had Magnolia Bakery cupcakes in NYC and I still think the cupcakes found at Verite (Cupcake Royale) are superior-particularly their white cake with buttercream frosting and coconut. The cake is nice and light and so is the frosting- sometimes there is too much frosting, but let's be honest- is there every too much frosting? The cupcakes and the cupcake wear (great t-shirts for adults and kids) make Verite worth a stop. They also have yummy panini sandwiches and coffee drinks. You can now find a second location on Market st in Ballard!

This is the best place for Italian food in Chicago. The freshness of everything makes you feel like you are eating in a cafe in the streets of Lucca or Florence. The salads are to die for (sugar snap pea and tomato and cukes is a winner) and the pastas, ahhh the pastas. The gnocchi melts in your mouth, I often order the Conchiglie Carrettiera and fantasize about it when I am far away! Don't miss this amazing place for Italian food.
