You can cut the 'tude with a knife in this place. Is it me? I mean tea is delightful but it is a tea house, not a meditation room. We went and felt out of the clique and didn't even love our tea. Try it if you like but I'd rather make a brew of tea in my living room where laughing and joking is considered the norm.

Dan and Emily are the lovely owners of this new gourmet foods store on 45th. The offerings are broadening by the day- cheeses from around the world (included Cow Girl Creamery- a fave of mine), breads from Macrina, cured meats from Salumi and much more. Go there for lunch and have a panini and tasty soda (very unique offerings). Stop by after work to grab cheese, crackers and wine. Or just swing by and peruse the gift shop in the back--dishes, aprons, cook books and the like. This store is a welcome addition to the often drab selection in Wallingford.

This place rocks. The food is good and cheap, the wait staff are cool and nice and they even offer red bean ice cream. The best dish on the menu however is not to be missed. It is Cha Ca (and for those that prefer tofu to fish, get the mongolian grill- same exact dish). This is a bowl of rice noodles, garnished with fried shallots and a delish piece of battered catfish, topped with cukes, peanuts, cilantro and a delish nuo cham sauce to top it off. This dish takes the prize- others have been okay but bland in comparison. Don't miss it. (We went to Hanoi and ate cha ca at the 100 yr old Cha Ca La Vong and thought Noodle Ranch is doing a hell of job!)

Thought I'd try this place and will never go again. While the wait staff couldn't have been nicer (or more all american), the food was not very good. Portions grossed our whole table out, sauces were heavy and sloppy and it just wasn't authentic. The only dish that got good reviews at our table was "ants on a stick" - a noodle dish. Head to the ID and get Chinese food in its proper environ.

This is the most efficient, convenient and cost-effective place to leave your car at Sea-Tac. We always manage to find a coupon on their website (www.masterparking.com) and have yet to have a single negative experience here after parking our car in the Master Park lot over 20 times. The turn around time between parking your car and arriving at the airport is never more than 10 mins and same for return- they are there to pick folks up at baggage claim on a regular basis and your car will be ready when you arrive at the lot. Don?t bother with other lots, this is superior in every way.

The tiny location in the West Village is charming, quaint and offers a variety of tasty Belgian influenced dishes. I usually go for brunch when we're in NYC and I own one of their super cute t-shirts- we have belgian waffles and perfectly made oatmeal with berries. I know that dinner is very good- mussles, french fries, good beers and not to be missed chocolate mousse for dessert. Try other locations in Chelsea and TriBeCa as well.

Back in the late 90s this place was a favorite of my girlfriends and mine. We would hit the communal baths for a mere $10 (hot pool, cold pool, steam, sauna) and then grab some Udon in the Japanese mall there. Nowadays they still offer the same services but it has been spruced up and it quite nice. The interior is really nice and calming, they still have the communal baths (now $16 and $20 on the weekend)the spa services have expanded (they now offer massage, facials, body treatments)and there are several pitchers of water with slices of cucumbers to quench your thirst. Worth the money and the outing leaves you tranquil and clean!

I grew up in a suburb of Chicago and among the highlights of a weekend trip to the city (aside from museums, theater, etc) was Garrett's popcorn shop! The stuff is so good that there are always lines and it is so buttery that even the carmel corn is served in waxed paper bags. My mom sends me the carmel corn all the way to Seattle and it is truly the most delicious. Some people like to mix 1/2 cheese, 1/2 caramel but I think that's criminal. Check out a location on State st or Michigan Ave next time you are in Chi-town.

Apparently this restaurant used to be over the top with most dishes priced at $30 and the pre-fix menu at $120. Not anymore! I just had a great meal at Cascadia and I'll be back. The current $25 set menu is a play on the election- you have to pick the donkey selections or the elephant (actually they'll let you pick and choose from either party, phew). The portions for the set menu were healthy (for some reason I thought they'd cheat us)- great salads, a lovely entree (I had the free range chicken over lentils with chantrells and my friends had a snapper with sweet roasted chili peppers and home made hashbrowns). The main courses if you pick from the menu are pricey ($25-32) but the appetizers and the famous happy hour hamburgers are a good value. The topper for our election themed dinner was a "white house" dessert- literally a white chocolate white house that when you removed the top, inside there was a chocolate cake. Clever, delish and affordable.
