This is by far the worst restaurant in Palo Alto. I've been here twice to eat and both times regretted it. The first time I ordered their skirt steak entree which was terribly overcooked and the second time I totally forgot what I ordered because I wanted to get so drunk to forget how much money I spent on the food. You're only good if you come here for an all liquid diet from the bar. The atmosphere is definitely great and cozy. Great for birthday events but not birthday dinners. This tends to become the major hangout besides Blue Chalkk in Palo Alto. Very singles friendly. Their hurricane is a great girlie drink.

All the silicon valley engineers who enjoy indian food can be seen dining here daily. This restaurant boasts a large buffet with a variety of entrees and desserts to accomodate both non vegetarians and vegetarians. From what I am told, it has both northern and southern indian dishes.
I recommend that you schedule at least an hour and a half for lunch. Even though it is a buffett the line for the buffett can grow to ridiculous lengths. Once at around 12 the line wrapped all the way around back to the entrance. Its ideal to arrive around 11:30.
I highly recommend that you bring a change of clothes if you plan on attending an important meeting afterwards. Ventilation is poor within the restaurant so once you leave you literally bring home the restaurant both in your stomach and on your clothes. Also expect to be knocked into a food coma after you leave.

I would have to say that this is one of the better South Bay public golf courses. Poses a good challenge for all levels of golfers and is under $50!! I paid a non-resident fee of $43 for all-you-can golf walking. Apparently if you are a resident of Santa Clara your greens fee is about half. If I could do my round over again I would have to say a cart is necessary. This course is really really long. Granted that my friends and I played from the Pro Green Tees and it was 97 degrees that day, the course distance and slightly hilly terrain made me winded by the back 9. Hazards are very well architected into the course and several dogleg holes pose tight challenges. Fairways and greens are maintained very well. If you're tired of playing mediocre 9-hole courses or have a friend visiting from out of town, I would definitely recommend this casual course. Only bad thing is that on certain days, the pace on the course is very slow. It took us 6 hours to complete a round of 18.

I played a round of 18 here on a Saturday in the fall. The maintenance of the greens and fairways was average. It was a medium length course that would be good for anyone that shoots around 85-110 for a round of 18. The course isnt design that tight so it doesnt pose much difficulty for the average golfer. The pace of play was moderate. I walked but still managed to finish 18 in a little over 4 hours. Typically most public courses around here on weekends get tied up behind foursomes that push a round of 18 to 6 hours. I definitely recommend giving this place a shot for twilight golf. The fare is great if you can get a city resident rate.

After a great birthday weekend, I found my favorite wool slacks covered in unspeakable substances. I was recommended this place by a friend but was skeptical if they were going to be able to remove the stains. In simply a two day turnaround they were able to give me back my previously vomit stained slacks in pristine condition. The service was very professional and cordial as well. The prices though were very moderate when compared to other local dry cleaners. I paid around $6 for dry cleaning of my wool slacks. No buttons missing or any other damage as some cleaners tend to claim no responsibility for these damages. I definitely recommend coming here for your every day dry cleaning.

If you're looking for asian groceries but you're too lazy to go to the local 99 Ranch branch then this is the place for you. They have a variety of seafood and asian vegetables. Definitely more ethnic options than your local Safeway and Albertson's. I have found that this grocery store doesnt cater to many indian delicacies or ingredients. They also seem to exclude many Korean ingredients. It's local though and you will definitely not experience the mayhem of people at your typical 99 Ranch.

While I have to add that the bar is one of the very few bars located in the Mountain View it tends to attract a lot of the older 30-somethings to upper 20-somethings. This might be deemed as one of the few singles night out places in Mt View but definitely not a place that attracts much eye-candy. While the bar boasts a full-bar, the bartenders are not very generous when it comes to mixed well drinks. I'd recommend this place only if you're absolutely too lazy to drive down 5 miles to downtown Palo Alto.

I have only eaten there during the lunch hours for their buffet so my opinion does not represent their dinner or regular menu. I have been there several times for business lunch meals. Every time has been very inconsistent. My favorite Indian entree is the Chicken Makhani or Butter Chicken. The first time I visited the tandoori was very tender but every time after the chicken meat was way over cooked to the point that the dryness overpowered any spices at all. If you're going for the buffett make sure to avoid the 12:00-1:00 time frame and arrive a little early as there is very limited seating in this location.

Forget about the sushi. I have been there several times both during evening hours and daytime hours in hopes of maybe having someone on duty who knows how to make a semi-decent roll. A good 90% of the sushi I have ordered there are poorly made to the point that rolls end up looking like pieces of nigiri. The only reason to go here is for the night life on Fridays and Saturday nights. On both nights you can expect a wait of up to an hour easily. Around 9:30-10pm the restaurant turns into a mini discoteque without the actual dance floor. DJ continues to turn the music as everyone orders multiple sake bombs. Everyone gets into it and gets on their chairs chanting SAKE-BOMB. I highly recommend this place for a birthday dinner/party if you're too lazy to go to the city. I would try to go early around 8 to secure a table for large parties.

If you're on Castro Street and looking for a quick bowl of quality ramen, then Maruichi is the place for you. It caters several different types of ramen bowls though I recommend the miso ramen the best. You have the option of buying bowls individually or combo meals that include pot stickers and california rolls on the side. Do not go there for sushi! The sushi is horrid and not what they're known for. Service is inconsistent though. Once a server was snappy and other times they have been fine. There is ample parking behind the structure.
