I have heard that Sweet & Savory makes outstanding meals to go, also. See SeattleBonVivant.com for her very thorough review of the meals.
This would be a great place to go for a romantic coffee date. (Did not see a single laptop there!)

Plus, they have every other kind of thing for the home. Very fun shopping experience.
Go during any holiday and they will have all kinds of items for celebrating!
Prices are reasonable. Parking is, well, typical for downtown. (The Bellevue Cost Plus near BellSquare has a parking lot.)

One of the best neighborhood elementaries around. (Let's hope it is not on the district's chopping block.)

I have never had a bad meal at Le Pichet. I have had many lunches there and dinner once. Usually the service is decent, occasionally frosty and a bit slow. However, I have to give it a really high rating because I love the food and atmosphere. And, it's cheaper than a round trip ticket to Europe.

If they are from "inland" perhaps taking a ferry to Bainbridge for the day is in order. I haven't had lunch on Bainbridge lately, but I bet someone could make a reco...

We have been taking our dogs to Eastlake Vets for over 15 years. Dr. Anderson is my absolute favorite, but the other vet there is great, too. They have always taken great care of our dogs, and when the time came for one of our dogs to go, they were incredibly kind and helpful. We even got a card from them later. It was a rough time for our whole family, but Dr. Anderson and his assistants were wonderful.

We have been with this bank for over fifteen years - started with them when they were Washington Credit Union.
I am not loving them with their conversion from a credit union to a bank. Fees have all gone up. While the tellers are nice, their bosses are cranky and unpleasant. I am looking to moving on.

Kathy and her husband have run this business, in this location, for at least 10 years that I know of. Kathy does and Excellent job with alterations and does lots of wedding dress fittings. I trust her for both fittings and very careful, high quality dry cleaning. Plus, they do a great job with wedding gown preservation for storage.
They are located in Montlake on 24th. They are right next to Mont's Market, an excellent small grocery store that is worth a visit just for the wine selection and organic produce.

Ken does non-residential, too. But we used him for an addition to our 1920's house in Seattle. He kept to the original flavor of the house but managed to create great, light-filled spaces.
Check out this story that was in the Seattle Times magazine a while back: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/pacificnw/2002/0915/living.html. He did an AMAZING job on this craftsman style home.
He is reliable, fair and very talented.
EDIT: here is the link again:

If it does not work Google "ken macinnes seattle" and look for the Seattle Times NW Magazine article.
