I have been known to travel unreasonable distances to get my hair cut at Aaron's. They simply get it right every single time. They are very friendly, very patient, and seem to really enjoy doing what they do. They are family oriented and really love children. They cut my boy's hair for his first ever haircut, and took his picture. They kept it until I came back about 6 months later for my next haircut and remembered that they took his picture. I had been showing up there for a couple of years, but I was still surprised that they remembered me or my boy since I get haircuts very infrequently. What really impressed me, beyond the fact that each time I feel it's the best hair cut I ever had, is that my highly sensitive boy had fun and didn't flinch. He really wasn't looking forward to the experience, but they made him feel right at home. This is one fantastic shop!

Dr. Gladstone is a great family physician. He is knowledgeable and informative. He is also friendly willing to take the time to listen to your concerns and questions. His office is small but he is always able to fit you in should you need him. His staff is quite helpful. I had him for a few years when I was living in Amherst and was always happy with him and his office. My first son had some jaundice and I was happy that Dr. Gladstone took the time to address my concerns. He was very encouraging and supportive in the early days of nursing as well. We moved at that time, but would have continued with him if we had stayed in the area. I completely recommend him.

This is a professionally run and professionally maintained 18 hole course in Westfield. They have been known to run a Saturday afternoon special, 1st come, 1st served, 18 holes for somewhere around $22, which includes a cart. For a course of this caliber, this deal can't be beat. The course is not really hard, and it has a very good blend of length and finesse requirements. This course is beyond my reasonable traveling range now, but I have nothing but good memories about the course.

This is a decent driving range that’s reasonably priced for the area. There are plenty of targets, plenty of mats, a decent hitting area, a bunker, and a fake putting green. There's also a pro who gives lessons, and it appears that they can do a video analysis of your swing. The fake green is super fast. I have personally never seen any real green so fast, but perhaps they exist on the tour. I didn’t find it particularly helpful, but it is free to use with the purchase of a bucket. In all, this is a very well run range that I would recommend. The one downside is that there is a significant elevation change, so it's hard to tell exactly how far your shots go.

This is a nice solid range that doesn't cost a lot of money. They replace the mats regularly, and keep them nailed down so they don't move around. There's a very friendly pro who keeps regular hours at the range. He says he's taught golf for about 50 years and winters in Florida, where he also teaches. He continually examines people's swings and offers free advice to those of us who are most in need of it. He gives lessons at a very reasonable rate. The range is short, with the back net at only 200 yards. There's no real short game practice facility. This is the perfect place to work on all of the irons under 200 yards. I consider this to be a great range for such a cheap price.

The fabric stash is a great local fabric store. They have a wide array of quality fabrics to meet every project and every budget. They offer sewing and quilting classes for children and adults. They even have a quilting machine in the store. In addition, they have yarn and sewing material, as well as knowledgeable staff to answer your questions and help you find what you are looking for. Their mailings provide information of upcoming events, classes, and sales. As someone who is pretty new to sewing, I am glad I found these folks to help me get started.

Royal Oaks is a short and easy 18 hole course located in Southbridge. When I played there regularly, only 9 holes were open. The course may be short, but it’s tight, so it does require the ability to hit the ball fairly straight. It seems to have been built on a swamp, and there is a significant bug problem. Don’t forget your bug spray, or you won’t have a good time. The greens are slow, and the course isn’t exactly well maintained, but the price is right, and I never had problems getting to play. It’s recommended for those just learning to play, or are playing on a budget.

This is an average small barber shop. It doesn’t have a lot of character or flair, but the barbers are friendly. They don’t appear to cater to children, but my boy did pretty well there. As far as cuts go, I asked for a fairly simple cut for myself, and the poor fellow was afraid to cut it as short as I wanted him to. I get haircuts infrequently, so it’s a bit of a shock to the system when I ask for it as short as I do. Nonetheless, after two tries, if the barber doesn’t get it just right, I usually give up and look for another place to get my hair cut the next time around. He didn’t get it right, and the boy’s cut wasn’t outstanding, so I probably won’t go back. I would chalk this shop up as very average.

This is a nicely maintained 18 hole course in Charlton. The greens are large and fairly forgiving. This is a fairly average course, with a fairly average difficulty. It's pretty wide open, and it takes a really bad shot to lose a ball. The pro shop is well stocked, and the prices are reasonable. Greens fees are on the high side for the area, but are worth it if you're looking for a well run golfing establishment.

Nice, secluded, and quiet mini golf course. This place is great for children who are easily startled or overly sensitive. The price is low, it’s rarely very busy, and the staff is friendly. It’s got a simple layout, and offers some interest and challenge. Each hole is very straight forward. If you have young children who are easily startled or are really shy, this is the place to take them for a relaxing round of mini golf.
