Michelle’s hair is a great place to get your hair cut or styled! I’d trust them with coloring, perming, straightening, or the like, although I’ve not had those things done there. They have top-quality work and charge very reasonable prices. They are very friendly and listen to what you want. They fit you in easily and don’t take a long time. It’s a great deal for a great job.

If you live in Roxboro, Milton/Semora, or northern Durham, this is definitely a great place to go for a fun evening… They have a terrific movie theatre with delicious popcorn and good snacks, a bowling alley, pool tables and a bar for beer, a very large arcade, and a roller skating rink. Something for everyone! It’s not terribly expensive, and it’s a one-stop-shop!

Great Clips is a good place to take kids or even grown men with easy haircuts, but I would definitely not recommend this place for a grown woman, as I’ve been twice and both times been extremely unsatisfied. I have a pretty easy haircut – long hair with layers/feathering around the face. That’s it. The first time the girl seemed extremely unsure of herself and she even asked me “Does that look even?” (the back) Lots of confidence! But I went again and I don’t think the girl even had a license!! She admitted she’d never worked in a salon before and she completely messed up one side of my hair, chopping precious inches off – probably 3-5 inches too many!!! Finally when I didn’t want her to mess up the other side, she got someone else knowledgeable to finish. Definitely NOT recommended.

Neuchatel is by far one of America’s most excellent chocolate shops. They originate in Belgium, I think. I have sampled chocolate the world over and must say that after Neuhaus chocolate, Neuchatel is the next best! Just their plain milk, white or dark chocolate will have you sold on them, although they have a wonderful variety of cordials, truffles, and other danties. It’s expensive, but see if you don’t agree!

Godiva Chocolatier is excellent chocolate maker/distributor. Find their boutiques in the nicer, more upper-class malls – you can’t compare what you buy pre-packaged in Belk to what you can get fresh at the store. It’s extremely expensive, but some of it is worth it. In Consumer Reports tests and my own sampling, the filling on most of the regular chocolates is not very good. Truffles, however, stand out as excellent. Their coffees as well are delicious. Ice cream is marvelous, particularly the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle. But beware of finding a “favorite” – they took mine away. Overpriced unless you find something you really love.

Earth Fare is an amazing gourmet and organic food store. If you like Whole Foods Market, you will love Earth Fare! There is a bakery with breads that are fresh baked with dough straight from Italy!!! Tempt yourself with a Rosemary Olive Oil round! There’s a very large section for fresh made salads, pastas, etc as well as a large “help-yourself” priced per pound bar. Don’t forget the fresh-made delectable desserts and pastries. Then, feast on the huge quantity of produce. There’s a great section with dried fruits/vegetables, trail mixes, nuts, and a selection of oils, all with different sized containers to fill yourself however much you want. Don’t forget all the packaged foods. A wonderful place, I wish there were more!!!

Dominion Eye Care and Dr. Crews especially are a great place to go to get your exam. There is not a whole lot of waiting. They are polite and friendly to their customers. Their doctors are good at helping find the right prescription. Especially when I was just switching to contacts, it’s a big deal to learn to stick something right into your eye, and they were very patient in helping me learn.

This group is an awesome. Five of us went parasailing with them a few summers ago, and they did a great job of it. I always felt safe (and I was quite scared). They gave you a good time up in the air…. Maybe 15 minutes or so. It’s definitely expensive, I think it was $90 for two of us. But it’s a great chance to see Pensacola from the air!

The doctors here are really nice and they do a thorough job. I had severe lower back and neck problems due to scoliosis and I was diagnosed and treated here & at Acceleration Virginia (Physical Therapy there) and couldn’t be happier. They treat you really well and are very friendly, have nice rooms. Really great place to go!

I had to be in 3 months of physical therapy for 12 degree scoliosis. Dr. Robbins of Cornerstone Chiropractic would adjust me and send me over to Acceleration Virginia for physical therapy. In the months time, my 12 degree was down to 5 degree! They worked with me 3 times a week for over an hour and were very patient. Great equipment for PT, not so much for working out to buff up a lot.
