I have visited David’s Bridal twice and had extremely different experiences. The first time was to try on wedding dresses and the place was too busy with too few employees, as well as just not very helpful. It was poorly organized (by style rather than size!!!) and the styles were very much the same!!! I left as soon as I could after trying 2 dresses on. Later, after finding a dress elsewhere, I went back for a veil, jewelry, and a headpiece and found them to be so polite and helpful and I had one lady entirely devoted to helping me. The got anything I wanted and I made lovely purchases. I think it depends, but I’d say try not to go on Saturdays, they get very overworked/busy.

Hair Color Xperts is an awful place to go. They overcharge incredibly and they do a lousy job. I have naturally dark brown hair and I went in to dye it blond. I have over 24 inches of hair and communicated that while I wanted to do this, I did not want to damage my hair beyond repair. I had done hair coloring at home, so they talked about not being able to do “virgin bleaching” but doing hightlights and toning. We looked at pictures and agreed what the end would look like. I had to ask tons of questions, rather than them offer me info. In the end, I looked like a skunk. Highlights meant that half my hair would be left dark brown and the other would be blond… .but not even the blond I wanted…. A dirty, dark blond. It was a big waste of money and about halfway through when I figure out what was going on, I started to balk, but they kept assuring me it would be fine, etc. When it was all done, they stonewalled me about how I didn’t like it and told me to fix it I’d need to sign a waiver about damage done and I’d pay another $110 all over again too. Misha did my hair and her attitude wasn’t good. Bad, bad experience I’ll never go again.

Ruth’s Chris is one of the nation’s top rated steak houses, and after eating there I definitely know why! Their steaks were utterly mouthwatering…. Smooth, velvety, richly seasoned, warm and juicy!!! The sides came a la carte, but were likewise very delicious, especially the onions. It’s expensive, but you’ll get an amazing and terrific steak, guaranteed!

Abigail’s will surprise you. It is right next door to a bakery, and the small menu is posted outdoors, but walk in side and you will get two menus: one that’s Pan Asian, including a nice sushi selection, and another that’s more typical bistro-dining fare. The regular food was good, but the sushi was terrific!!! California rolls were served on their sides, avocado slice on top, fish roe sprinkled over that, and a sauce drizzled on them. Definitely different, but oh so good! Expensive.

The Coffee Beanery is a neat little shop in for grabbing a coffee, cappuccino, or chai latte at. It’s been there for years, way before Starbucks and Caribou and the like came along a years ago. You’ll be pleased with the selection and quality of what they serve, there are even a few little tables to sit down and drink at. A nice coffee shop, with some cool mugs, demitasses and the like sold there too.

Williams-Sonoma is the place you want to go if you are looking for top-notch culinary items for your kitchen, or things a little gourmet. They sell an array of books with excellent pictures and detailed instructions, special cookware like fleur-de-lis bundt pans or Madeline trays. They sell cappuccino makers, Kitchen-aid mixers, blenders, and an array of appliances that are top quality. They sell hard-to-find ingredients like rosewater or unique olive oils. Their best items are their seasonal ones – from red heart-shaped plates at Valentine’s, to pumpkin or maple cookie cutters for fall, to much more.

Rue 57 is a great place to get a delicious and more elegant meal. It’s located at the corner of 57th and 6th, so there are bunuches of thing to do around there so you don’t have to go out of your way for dinner! The service is excellent and the food is very tasty and appealingly prepared. A little on the expensive side, but worth it. Also, they have a sushi bar that’s newer, but I’ve never tried it.

California Pizza Kitchen is truly a terrific meal at a reasonable price!!! Don’t go here thinking they only serve pizza. Their pizzas are terrific, with an almost sweet crust and a tangy but savory pizza sauce on all of them. But they also serve incredible salads and other main courses that will tantalize. I got a green salad with apples, gorgonzola cheese, applewood-smoked bacon, avacados and I think pine nuts. It was absolutely so tasty and terrific, it was my whole meal!!! This place has incredible tasting food, go try it!!!

If you’ve ever been to Isabel’s in Ringgold/Danville, O Solo Mio is a lot like it in South Boston. It’s set up with bench-style tables that are very simple and good for a large group. The restaurant may be run by Italians, not sure. The food is moderately good, though nothing to brag about. Pizza’s one of their best features. Not expensive at all.

The Bull and the Bear is a good place to eat lunch, but it didn’t seem like it would make a terrific dinner place. Very casual atmosphere, but reasonably priced food, service was not super fast but not slow, and food that was pretty tasty. Don’t expect anything terrific, it’s just good lunch food.
